I actually wrote this about 2 weeks ago and just found it in my notebook.lol

Splurging
When i was a kid splurging for us was going to O.C.B. (Old Country Buffet), then to Schnucks to rent a movie. This of curse was late 80's, when my parents had 6 kids. And before the movie area in Schnucks was replaced with USBank locations...

When i started working splurging went to blowing money at the mall and the arcade. If you read the spare change blog you know i was pretty reckless with money.lol. When i met my ex it became goin out to eat, buying electronics all kinds of nice expensive stuff!!
After my son was born it became more kid friendly. Eating out went from italian resturaunts to subway. Electronics turned into toys etc.

Your probably wondering why im rambling on about splurges. When i could be goin on about Chris's bday party (which was awesome!!!), or Joey's latest goof. Well i think due to gas prices almost everyone is feeling the wallet pinch. And for the last few months i have been pretty bratty thinking of all the stuff i wish i could do. Oh i wish i could go gamblind and go out to eat and etc etc. Always some lavish thing. Which due to gas prices and my crappy ass job are waaaaaaaay out of the question.
Last night i had the following conversation with my husband. Who had abandoned me to go to Texas with his dad on a buisness trip. (lmao had to say it.)

Me: Amber & I splurged tonight!!!!!
Clay: You splurged?????
Me: Yeah we had mcdonalds & rented 2 movies from redbox
Clay: You rebel you!!!!!!!!!!
Me: Yeah i know!!!!!!! I took the $10 that had been sittin in my pocket for a few weeks and blewit !!!!

And it hit me I'd been thinking like a spoiled brat!! Now dont get me wrong i love simple things. I love reading, curling up with clayton to watch a movie,playing with my kids,drinking coffee and goofing with my friends (a weekly thing). But every once in awhile u want to do somethin extravagant.

But the fact that a cheeseburger & red box had that affect on me, reminded me i dont need the outlandish things. Somethin ive always known but sometimes ignore.

Overall my whole weekend was great. Friday Clayton and i took amber out to applebee's for her bday. Saturday my 8hr shift got knocked down to 3 and i got to spend time with my kids. Saturday night we went out and celebrated Chris's bday. Sunday Amber and Ginny went to church had a blast then Ginny took us to SNS for lunch. I havent been there since they went none smoking.lol

With all the chaos of the world we sometimes loose holf of whats really worth it, and important. Given the oppurtunity i would probably have liked to have taken amber out to eat and to a movie. But i think we both got more out of it with mcdonalds and redbox. We got to relax on my comfy bed and actually talk during our 2 movies. Which as you know is sooo bad in the theatre *rolls eyes*lol
